Is Facebook Making Us Cranky?

Posted on August 25, 2013

Last week I was thinking that every afternoon I spent cruising around Facebook, I walked away feeling really low and kind of cranky. A definite drop in consciousness (frequency) from my usual perky, excited, engaged, and curious self. What was causing it?

I concluded that it was the prevalence of bad-news stories that my conscientious, liberal-thinking friends have been posting. I include myself among the guilty. Even my sister, who spends a lot of her time out in the wilderness, has had bad news to share about life and politics in the wild, a place we like to think of as a respite from worldly gloom.

I did some deep thinking about this phenomenon, slept on it, and by morning came up with this:

We seem to be in a time of Revelation—revelation of all the previously hidden, underhanded, dirty rotten greedy tricksters in the world.

I look forward to the time of Inspiration—when we all reach within ourselves to find the Godspark, and set out to spread this Goodness in tiny, individual ways throughout the world.

Today I found among my email an NPR story about a social research project coming out of the University of Michigan. Researchers concluded that Facebook wasn’t making us happy. Their conclusions about why weren’t very concrete. They speculate that it has to do with social comparison, the old “keeping up with the Joneses” phenomenon. I disagree.

I think it’s because we’re in that time of Revelation. Like watching network news, Facebook has become an onslaught of scary, depressing slices of life. But we can’t fix the world until we uncover all the misdeeds that have gone on since forever.

So many more things are coming to light now, in every possible realm of endeavor. No one can hide their shenanigans like they once did. Nothing can be so easily swept under the rug. A bright Light of public inspection has begun to shine. And now we’re sharing this news at the speed of light, educating ourselves and each other. Painful and depressing, but perhaps necessary to wake us from delusion and/or apathy?

So I look forward to that time of Inspiration, when 9 billion human beings reach within to tap the Wisdom of their higher selves, igniting a Light so bright, it will obliterate all the evils we have jointly endeavored to expose.

Small doses, meanwhile, remembering always to dilute them in the power of introspection. And I’m going to hold my Spark-torch a little higher if I can. I might have to walk away from Facebook as often as I lurch toward it. There’s no going back now. We’ve begun the process. We have to see it through.

Kidnapper: A Case of Astral Obsession

Posted on August 14, 2013

I don’t want to dwell on this crime excessively, but it’s such a clear case of astral obsession (destructive entity influence) that Joseph & I felt we needed to speak up. It is not “coincidence” that the kidnapper who killed the 16-year-old’s mother and brother and fled with her into the Idaho wilderness was performing copycat actions of his own father, who had committed suicide 15 years to the day that his son was shot and killed by FBI agents as they rescued the son’s victim, Hannah Anderson.

This story began here in San Diego, so perhaps we’ve heard more details. Here’s a link to the local CBS news story, breaking the information that the kidnapper’s own father had similarly threatened a 16-year-old girl at gunpoint in 1989, wearing a ski mask and carrying a sawed-off shotgun.

Just as in the current crime, the man in 1989, who had been seeing this girl’s mother, wanted the 16-year-old to come away with him. She escaped, and thankfully he did not kill her boyfriend as threatened. But the next day his son—the very same perpetrator of the current crime—brought her a message at school that his father would be waiting for her after school let out. She quit school that day, changed her name, and has been living incognito ever since, now working as a nurse. So similar to his son’s present-day copycat crime!

Local newspaper archives proved the woman’s  story to be accurate, and that the current kidnapper’s father was subsequently arrested for the crime, as well as for beating two people with a baseball bat. Then, 15 years ago, he committed “drug-related” suicide.

Aside from the hell his son must have grown up in, we have facts that tell us it is very likely that the father influenced his son’s crime in the present by superimposing his will over his son’s from the other side. In other words, his son was possessed, or the term we prefer (because the “victim” of this is not permanently owned), obsessed. He may also have been influenced by the same subastral forces that influenced his father.

Sleight of Mind: It’s Real

Posted on August 9, 2013

I just finished re-reading my own book for the first time in paperback. Wow. My Cosmic CoAuthors certainly persuaded me to share things I wouldn’t otherwise have shared, and to sound more intelligent than I otherwise would have! Exactly like the hypnosis subjects magician Keith Barry talks about in this Huffington Post article.

The story includes a link to his 2004 TED talk and demo, but I found his remarks about using hypnosis during performances even more vital. He confirms every warning in my Future-Life Therapy chapter (19),  which provides an “Interdimensional View of Hypnosis.” The Irish magician claims to have hypnotized more than 3,000 subjects, leading him to some important conclusions we should all consider.

Update, Aug. 6: And now it’s #3 in Reincarnation and #8 in the Energy Healing category! I am so grateful!

I keep wanting to post new things on my blog, about my current weight-loss, for instance, or photos I took yesterday touring around San Diego. Or the dragonfly totem I communed with last week. And I will, I promise! But right now it seems that the new book’s birth announcements keep pouring in and I cannot resist sharing this one: My book has reached #21 on Amazon’s list of Hot New Releases in Reincarnation! And #29 in Energy Healing! And it’s up to #188, which is page 16 of 100 pages listing all books in the Reincarnation category, whenever they were published  I’m so grateful!

I was clued in by another author and had to go searching for these obscure lists. The one pictured is buried beneath Books/Religion & Spirituality/New Age/Reincarnation. As I said to Joseph, reincarnation isn’t exactly “New” Age! But we’re grateful anyway, and I hope more people will find their way to it because of these listings.

Apparently my current Soul Pursuit involves my year-long dedication to writing this unexpected book, cutting myself off from all other projects and a lot of other things in life, and now, following up on its birth process and helping it to find its readers. I have a few hints of what my next Co-authored project might be, but so far, nothing I can pursue full-time. I’m just along for the ride, as they say.

And what a fun ride so far! I’m trying not to hold my breath until the first reviews come in. I’ve poured heart and soul into this book, not to mention a lot of personal stories, so I suppose I should also put on a bit of psychic armor? We’ll see … sigh … we’ll just have to wait and see … (She drums desktop nervously.)
